Hi! I’m Monica and I’m a multi-faceted designer based in Seattle, WA. I have worked with all sorts of people, from helping Uber drivers with high-stakes needs, to creating artwork for indie games, to performing extensive software testing and providing bug reports and data analyses to tech companies like Samsung and AT&T. With my BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, my work history seems scattered and distant.

However, my work in each of these roles taught me about understanding the needs of users - whether they’re customers, clients, or coworkers. At the end of the day, everyone is a user who deserves to have the best experience possible. I’ve learned to identify and empathize with user issues within external and internal workflows, communicate with upper management to suggest resolutions, and implement positive changes to improve the quality of work (and work life!) for my team.

I’m all about making things easier for everyone that I work with, and when I discovered that UX/UI is everything I enjoy doing rolled into one, I decided to supplement my artistic background and user-centric career by enrolling in an intensive UX/UI bootcamp hosted by Springboard. I took on every role from research to design in order to learn the ropes and apply my skills in a more meaningful and elegant way.

When I’m not hyperfocused on solving work-related issues, I can be found strategizing for the next D&D session, tending crops in Stardew Valley, and continuing my legacy as the Pokemon Master in every mainline Pokemon game since 1996.
